LECTURER'S PAGE
Hi! My name if Jeannette Kenyon. I am the Rhode Island State Grange Lecturer. I have been a member of the RISG for 21 years and the state lecturer for 7 years.
As lecturer I am responsible for creating a Lecturer’s Program. The Lecturer’s Department sponsors many different activities, such as a Rumikub Tournament, Talent Contest, Art Contest, Photo Contest and Write-a-song Contest. The lecturer’s committee and I develop a program book which outlines the various activities. The program book is presented yearly at the Statewide Meeting held every November.
In January the lecturer’s from New England and New York meet to plan the Northeast Lecturer’s Conference held in August. During the Northeast Lecturer’s Conference grange members from across New England and New York get an opportunity to network with their peers to discover new and exciting programs to bring back to their granges. Every seven years a state lecturer hosts the conference. Rhode Island hosted the conference two years ago…it was a HUGE success! During the conference each state is responsible for preparing a 45 minute program. This year’s program theme is Springtime. The lecturer’s committee has been busily preparing an exciting (and very funny) program.
During State Session in October the State Lecturer hosts a banquet, the evening is filled with entertainment and camaraderie. During state session I present all the awards for the various contests that the lecturer’s department hosts. I also need to present a report during the state session that highlights the year’s activities.

September 1st Entry due date for Photo and Art Contests. Reports are due.
October 7th Lecturer’s Banquet at State Session at Ramada Inn in Seekonk, MA
